FAQ

Practical answers before you print.

If your project does not fit neatly into these answers, send us the context and we'll review it.

Is the automatic quote final?

No. The browser estimate is a working pre-slicer estimate. B&V 3D reviews manufacturability, support needs, orientation, finish requirements, final shipping, and special requests before confirming a final quote.

What model files can I upload?

The interactive quote viewer supports STL, 3MF, OBJ, AMF, GLB/glTF, PLY, and FBX. If you have STEP/STP or another CAD file, contact us or export a compatible mesh copy for the automatic quote.

What materials are available?

The early quote workflow includes PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, and TPU. Actual availability, color inventory, and part suitability are confirmed during review.

Why can the final price change?

Automatic estimates cannot fully predict supports, orientation, failed-print risk, special finishing, exact slicer settings, packaging, or unusually difficult geometry. Those items are reviewed before the final quote is confirmed.

Can I track my quote or order?

Yes. Verified customer accounts show quote status and an expandable history of updates. When B&V 3D changes status, notes, or tracking information, the site also attempts to send an email notification.

Do I need an account to request a quote?

No. You can submit as a guest. B&V 3D associates the profile and quote with the submitted email so you can later verify that address, create a password, and claim the account history.

How is shipping handled?

The quote workflow provides a working shipping estimate using destination, model dimensions, material use, quantity, and packaging assumptions. Final shipping is confirmed after the part and packaging are reviewed.

Can you print a model I found online?

Potentially, but the design license must allow the intended use. B&V 3D may ask for the model source or license details before producing third-party designs.
